Introducing FlickerMill Candles

CHI’s last birthday and Cat’s book launch party will be held at the FlickerMill Candles location. I decided to do this, because I love this couple! I recently met Olivia, with my husband, who we became friends with instantly. We, soon after, got to meet her husband Eric and we started getting to know them as a couple. Talk about a POWER COUPLE!

We each shared stories of our miscarriages and learned she had been on an IVF journey for years. Their first pregnancy ended up with a miscarriage, but their second one was successful and their beautiful daughter is now 2 years old. They are on their 2nd IVF journey now.

I also love everything they do. They have 4 businesses. The FlickerMill Candles is the store front, but they run the other 3 at this location as well. I would love for you to learn who they are and meet them when the party comes up. I met them through a mutual friend and we have since become so close we are practically inseparable!

Eric, Olivia’s husband, was a firefighter. Olivia was a showgirl, but started an organization, called YFFR (Yoga For First Responders). Eric’s Fire Station participated in Olivia’s classes and that was how they met. Since then they have married and started other businesses as they walked through their journey together. They have gone through so much and I will walk you through their journey here, starting with the FlickerMill Candles since that will be the location of my event.

FlickerMill Candles

If you do not know anything about IVFs, it is a very expensive journey. With the jobs they had when they first started, she owns a nonprofit, which I will go into later, and he was a firefighter. They couldn’t possibly afford to do such a drastic action to get what they wanted as a happily married couple: having a baby of their own.

They were determined and eventually started FlickerMill Candles to help fund this expensive procedure. They were surprised how successful this project became, that was thought of to help fund, actually blew up in popularity in their local area! They were in Colorado at the time. They moved here not too long ago and are starting their journey for their 2nd IVF procedure.

Because this had become such a success, they are donating a percentage of their proceeds to provide hope and inspiration for those going through the same journey.

Everything they use is 100% organic and non-toxic and they also pour each candle with their own hands.

YFFR

YFFR is the nonprofit organization Olivia created. It stands for Yoga For First Responders. She has brought back the origin of the yoga practice, focusing on breathing techniques and teaching techniques that helps people, first responders, how to deal with current stress in a healthy way. She had conducted scientific research proving the significant decrease in PTSD after a traumatic experience.

Through this work, she met her husband, Eric, and are now doing this together, as well as the candles. He is also now an author.

Everyday Stoicism for Public Safety: Written by Eric M. Brenneman

Eric, being a firefighter himself, know the stress and the trauma involved in the industry of saving lives. He embarked in a long journey of finding a way to deal with this kind of stuff without falling into deep depression and eventually, the possibility of, suicide. Many first responders and military fall into this “way of life”, but is not living life. What do we do?

Eric found stoicism. Being stoic basically means being able to “choose” between being reactive or proactive in situations out of our control. He read and found ways be able to enjoy life and spend quality time with his little family without the reactiveness, depression, and thoughts of suicide (from being a fire fighter). This is HUGE! Also, I LOVE his book! Highly recommend! Especially for men.

On top of all of this, they also run a baby equipment rental, called BabyQuip. They have a 2 year old of their own and they understand the struggle with baby equipment, so they started a rental!

“BabyQuip allows families to rent clean, safe, and insured baby essentials and have them delivered directly to their destination. By utilizing BabyQuip, parents can travel lighter and enjoy a comfortable and stress-free trip knowing that all necessary baby gear will be ready and waiting for them upon arrival.”

You can rent sleep solutions, strollers, car seats, acitivity centers, high chairs, toys and games, and so much more. Click on the button below to check it out!

I hope you make it to my event to meet this wonderful couple! Even if you don’t, they will still be there after the event and hope you will make it a point to visit them when you have a moment.
